Richa told  Live, "I think people are allowed to criticize or appreciate, but I don't think that it's good to troll somebody

Entertainment News - Richa Chadha was recently seen essaying the role of 'LajjoJaan' in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Heeramandi'. Despite her short screen time, she made a lasting impact with her portrayal as 'Lajjo' and her graceful Kathak sequences. Through her nuanced performance, she breathed life into her character, infusing it with depth and complexity. Richa's ability to convey a wide range of emotions left a profound impression on viewers.  Talking about her experience working in this film, Richa told Live, "It was great. It was great. I mean, I always wanted to collaborate with Mr. Bhansali. He's one of the best at what he does."
Being trained in Kathak, Richa got to do several song and dance sequences in the film for which she was really happy. Her journey with Kathak began in childhood, however, it was temporarily halted due to academic commitments. It was the prospect of working with acclaimed director Sanjay Leela Bhansali that reignited her passion for Kathak. She said, "It was good. I reconnected with the dance. And, I just think that it's important to do something that showcases classical stuff also because those are our roots."Richa received positive reviews for a performance in 'Heeramandi'. Talking about that with  Live, she said, "It makes me feel good because it's a new role for me. I did a lot of voice training to get that particular old-world experience into the voice and also watched a lot of Meena Kumari's old work to get into the skin and the character."
Although a majority of people loved the series, netizens compared it with the real Heeramandi in Lahore and the way Bhansali has weaved a narrative in which the lives of the tawaifs are glamorised. Nonetheless, audiences loved the larger-than-life experience, the song and dance sequence, the costumes and the narrative that blended smoothly into India's freedom struggle.Sharmin Sehgal, who played 'Alamzeb' in the series is receiving a lot of criticism for her performance to the extent of being trolled on social media. Talking about her performance, Richa told  Live, "I think people are allowed to criticize or appreciate, but I don't think that it's good to troll somebody. You can like a piece of work or you can dislike it, but I don't think you should troll anybody. Because after all, everyone is a human being."Recently, actor Shruti Sharma, who played Sharmin’s maid 'Saima' in 'Heeramandi', came out in her support. She told Pinkvilla, "Honestly, I wasn’t aware that people were trolling her until now. I don’t know what audiences have liked or not liked about Sharmin, but I’ve seen her trying her best like everyone else on the sets. It doesn’t matter who’s being trolled, but trolling is a bad thing to do."
Talking about Richa Chadha, she plans to take a break for three or four months after 'Heeramandi'. In addition, Ali Fazal and her highly anticipated production 'Girls Will Be Girls' is set to make its mark at the Cannes Festival.
